It poured slush here last night – January 7 / 09. When I got up this morning and I opened the door well it wasn’ pretty – well it was kind of pretty but pretty nasty too! All the snow from the roof came down through the night. I literally had to hike over the snow to get to my car to get to work. I took a couple of photos in case I wasn’t able to get down the driveway but luckily Bob plowed several times last night and had my car facing straight down the driveway and instructions to put the pedal to the metal when I leave for work. Yeah oh yeah, I was able to make it down the driveway and get to work.
OMG – is it ever going to stop? Come on! Where’s Mel – We need to call in the army!! Last night before I went to bed I told Bob that I needed to brush to snow off my car to save a small amount of time since I leave for work at 5 a.m. Nice guy Bob did it for me shortly after he plowed the driveway – again! Low and behold did it matter – well probably – since it snowed another foot last night. But the drive to work was OK after all – I would rather the fresh fallen foot of powder than slush or worse yet black ice!
When I was driving up Rosemont Hill to the campus the same idiot van driver that I see each morning was going WAY to fast and as Mr. Get-out-of-my-way turned the corner, he missed my car by I swear less than an inch – what a bad driving jerk!
Everyday as soon as I get home, I immediately put on snowshoes and take Bailey for a walk in the back 40. For the last three walks, I turn around to see how she is managing and there she is sitting at the beginning of the trail faithfully waiting for me. I guess enough is enough for her.
It snowed at least a foot last night! It is still coming down strong with no end in sight. Poor Bailey gets through the snow like a dolphin gets through water. We were going to go to Castlegar for lunch today but I think not now – the roads will be very scary. There is a great deal of shovelling to be done as well as plowing. So I best get my snow gear on and get at it. Luckily for me I made an appointment at the chiropractor for Monday the 29th – I am sure that I will need it!
There is a cluster of crows out front – 8 or more – all hanging around the old cherry tree. I don’t think that it is cherries that they are after – I think that maybe one of them has some kind of an animal up there that they are all enjoying.
